VE Day 80 Years on

Oban commemorates the 80th Anniversary of Victory In Europe on the 8th of May at the 51st (Highland ) Division Memorial (Corran Halls) at 10.45am. Those wishing to attend should gather at the Corran Halls at 10.30am to remember those who gave so much.

Also “Oban’s Contribution to WW2 effort.” Friday 9th May in the Oak Room at The Rockfield Centre Oban.6.30 for 7pm start. Teas and coffee available.

Illustrated talks with slides, from Mhairi Ross (Livingstone) and Neil Owen. Mhairi will talk on her father’s journey from soldier to POW.  Neil will talk on Oban’s role in WW2.

This is a free event. Donation on entry if you are able. After expenses any surplus funds will be split between Oban War and Peace Museum and Erskine Hospital.
