The 2Vals look forward to welcoming participants to our Life Drawing Workshops. Life dawing is one of the most fundamental (& popular) of drawing experiences. This time we’re offering two 2 hour session. We encourage you to book one session as to offer other opportunity to others.

No previous experience is necessary, and we are at hand to help, and initiate the reserved beginners and encourage the more proficient participants. A full list of suggested materials will be provided and we shall also provide a range of materials for experimentation and exploration.

Val Hamilton studied at Glasgow School of Art specialising in Silversmithing & Jewellery design. Her other passion is live theatre where local productions are transformed by her innovative costume and set designs for Benderloch & North Connel Drama Club. As well as developing her jewellery design and production, Val ultimately led the Art & Design Department at Oban High School. Since retiring from formal education, she has made an easy transition to the Rockfield Centre where she takes an interest in “all things creative”. Val Leckie was awarded a BA in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent College of Art, and a Post Graduate Certificate of Secondary Art and Design Education at Strathclyde University. She also founded Cara Print Workshop on The Isle of Mull and was a secondary teacher of Art and Design, teaching in Primary and Secondary sector across a number of Scottish Education Authorities. Val Leckie and Val Hamilton became acquainted through a joint interest in high quality craftsmanship. Val Hamilton in jewellery and Val Leckie in Printmaking. Val Leckie worked on many community projects on Mull so when she became a Peripatetic Art Specialist, it was inevitable that they would work together in Argyll. Whilst continuing to bring up their young families Val Hamilton and Val Leckie collaborated on many diverse projects. More recently, over the past few years, both Vals have, worked together under the banner of “The Two Vals” delivering many diverse Art and Design Courses, including life drawing in the Rockfield hut and the Atlantis Centre
