Textile art

Collaborative community art installation with the EcoCreative Cluster.

Add your contribution to a new textile art installation for The Rockfield Centre themed on the Gaelic Tree Alphabet.

Participants will use templates to cut out leaf shapes and a simple running stitch to attach letters associated with the tree to the piece.

Local textile artist Deborah Gray has prepared dyed wool fabric and yarn with each of the trees featured to form the basis of the installation.

An informal session for all ages

Feel free to attend as many sessions as you like.

Please bring sharp fabric scissors if you have them.

Wool dyed leaves

The image shows a fabric leaf dyed with alder cones with the Ogham character F. Alder is Fearn in Ogham, Fearna in Gaelic.
