Gardening Evening

Date: Weekly on Saturdays, weather permitting
Time: 10.30am
Place: Meet in the Rowan Room Cafe to walk to garden
Age: 16+

Weather permitting, we have a regular volunteer evening to do some cutting back/clearing in the garden behind the Rockfield Centre, to bring it back into productive use, All welcome!

If you would like to join us, please drop an email to elaine@therockfieldcentre.org.uk or keep an eye on our social media. Sessions may be cancelled due to staff availability or weather.

Here are the details:

Where: Meet in the Rowan room cafe at the Rockfield Centre.

What time: Please arrive for 10am. ((We will be serving tea and coffee either when we all first arrive and/or for a break after we've explored the site & done a bit of clearing/cutting.))

What to bring: We can provide some tools and gloves, but please do bring your own if you prefer. Please also bring and use insect repellent in case ticks &/or other biters/stingers are present on the block.

What to wear: Please wear layers suitable for a garden overgrown with nettles & brambles, and for our changeable unpredictable Scottish weather!

The terrain: It is mostly a terraced slope with multiple levels and steps. The ground may be rough and uneven, with slippery and muddy patches and any other hazard that may occur in a disused & overgrown garden.

This is not a formal organisation, just a loose group of like-minded people who hope to see the garden brought back to a productive & carefully tended community space.

Have your say about the future plans of the garden! Here's the link to our questionnaire https://forms.gle/zaLhq97zEH5ZfZRq7
