Calmac Coastal Creatives. Drawing Games

Drawing Games Workshop : See, feel, remember, imagine!

Date: Monday 29th November
Time: 10am-12.30pm
Place: Hawthorn Art Studio, The Rockfield Centre
Cost: £8

With funding support from the Calmac Community Fund we have been able to keep ticket costs low for this event.

You can draw! Whatever you think, feel or imagine...you can draw. You can pick up a pencil and take it for a walk. You can make marks that tell people things, or remind yourself of something you saw or imagined.

Have fun with drawing! Come along and join artist Lizzie Rose for some drawing games to experiment and build your confidence.

This workshop will suit anyone who just wants to have a go at drawing, or who could do with loosening up and playing for a while.

We will be using games to explore ways of drawing and making marks, using pencil, charcoal and ink to communicate what we see and also what we remember, feel and imagine.

A fun class for all to enjoy and experiment. Especially good if you believe you can't draw or spend all your time drawing from a photograph – come and play!

Lizzie Rose is passionate about being outside in all weathers and on all terrains, especially running in the mountains. The research for her work is in these experiences, drawn at the time and from memory. Lizzie loves to draw and is keen to help support others to enjoy making marks and find a way to express what they are seeing and feeling.

Lizzie was born in Oban, and grew up on Loch Awe-side. She has a BA Hons Fine Art from Newcastle University, and did a Foundation Year at Leith School of Art. Lizzie has exhibited in various galleries and venues in Scotland and the rest of the UK, and New Zealand. She lived briefly in Amsterdam and New Zealand but Scotland is her home and she now lives in Ardfern in Argyll.
