8. Lady’s Mantle  Alchemilla mollis 

Other names: garden lady’s mantle

Native to southern Europe (other Alchemilla species are native to northern Europe)

Easy to grow hardy perennial, good ground cover, self-seeds freely.

Medieval alchemists used the water droplets on the leaves as they believed them to be very pure – hence the name Alchemilla.

Dye: the flowering shoots give a greenish yellow
